I present to you today’s this week’s favorite: My blue-and-white seersucker suit. (Yes, it’s a day late, but Life, the Universe, and Work all conspired against me to ravage my Friday.)
A seersucker suit is something I had long pondered getting… but was never ready to pull the trigger on until this year. I found a great suit separate combination from Alan Flusser at my local Stein Mart. It was a great bargain and one that I (finally) couldn’t put off picking up any longer.
Seersucker is a very distinct look and is most often associated with being in the South, sittin’ out on the veranda, and sipping a mint julep.
What isn’t often considered is the fact that it is typically a lightweight cotton or cotton-blend weave that is just about perfect for wearing in the summer. Anywhere. Paired with a nice pair of suede or nubuck lace-up shoes, it providses slightly more casual and relaxed look to a professional outfit.
In all, I’m quite glad that I bought this and enjoy wearing it for the two-to-three seasons that the weather is cooperative enough to allow me to wear it.
