As Sunday was Easter, I figured that it was time to finally get around to wearing a suit that I’ve had hanging in the closet for… um… “a while.”
Sara was kind enough to hem the pants for me, so I’d have a “new” suit to wear.
Outfit components:
- Suit: Jos. A. Bank “Windsor” Business Express Suit (Navy with White Chalk Stripe)
- Shirt: Tasso Elba Spread-Collar Shirt (White)
- Tie: Façonnable (Red w/ Blue and White floral pattern)
- Pocket Square: Jos. A. Bank (White)
- Shoes: J. Murphy Ski-Moc II Tassel Slip-on (Burgundy)
- Braces: Blue with Red Stars (Can’t remember if they are Geoffrey Beene, Perry Ellis or Tommy Hilfiger)
- Cuff Links: Red LEGO Cuff Links… that I made!
Here is a closer look at the outfit:
I’ve been wanting to wear those braces (“suspenders,” in the U.S.) for ages. I’ve had them for… at least 15 years… and probably haven’t had a chance to wear them in better than six or so. I was quite happy to rediscover that my suit pants had brace buttons in them.
And, as I mentioned above: I made the cuff links. A friend pointed out a LEGO tie bar to me a few days before Easter. That made me think that it shouldn’t be too difficult to make a new pair of LEGO cuff links, assuming that I could find the right back. Saturday afternoon, I found backs at a local store. Saturday night, I set about making cuff links. And they went together pretty easily and look pretty decent. I will probably make more in different colors.
